Our Classroom
We have a bright and spacious 1000 square foot classroom. It has its own entrance and is set up in learning centers. Toys in most centers are rotated monthly.
Dramatic Play Center
Here we have a kitchen, store, babies, dress-up and a school area just for the kids.
Block & Truck Center/Circle Time Area
This is a shared area. Along with playing blocks and trucks, the children are able to manipulate the numbers and letters, retell stories, and work with the letter being studied.
Table Top Toys
These are our manipulatives and educational toys. Some of the items found here are puzzles, pattern blocks, rhyming/opposite/alphabet cards, and building cubes.
Puppet Theater
The kids love to put on shows here. They also use the theater as a house, store, etc.
Light Table
*These two areas are rotated monthly.
Spelling and Magnet Center
The kids can always find magnetic letters here. With these letters they can spell words using the picture-word cards. Other magnets are rotated through including gears and fun magnets.
Reading Area
The books are rotated every two weeks and include books about our current theme.
Writing Center
The writing center is open at all times. It includes different things to write and draw with and picture dictionaries. It is rotated with other fun writing things.
Art Center
This is an area where the kids can do unguided art. We use our eating table to work at.
Kitchen
We have a full sized kitchen in our classroom for meals and snacks.
Entrance
Each child has a cubby for their belongings. I work with the children at the table for pull out activities.
Sensory Table
The objects in our sensory table are changed every two weeks. If possible, I try to incorporate our theme in it.
Toy Area
The children can find many different toys here.
Wind Tunnel
We love when this is open and we get to see what travels through it. This area is rotated with a doll house and play castle.
Back Yard
We have everything kids need to run around and have fun. Lots of green grass, a full swing set, an expanded patio for riding trikes and scooters, a basketball hoop and playhouse. We play class games almost daily and go to the neighborhood park once a week when the weather is nice.
(Sorry, I am having trouble uploading the swing set pictures.)
